Filiph Svensson goes to Odense, Pierre Z stays home

Sweden 05 Aug 2009 at 20:30 | Published by: Hans | Views: 10625 | News search  | source: Bangolf.se

Filiph Svensson goes to Odense, Pierre Z stays home Filiph Svensson will replace Pierre Zetterlund in the Swedish World Championship Team for Odense. The silver medalist from the Swedish Championship is unfortunately forced to return his place in the Team due to professional reasons.

He is replaced by Filiph Svensson, the junior from Skoghall, that is at the moment playing in Waldshut. Filiph is known to be a really sharp felt player and a god cup player. On two attempts he has two medals in cup match play in the junior’s championship. Bronze in Södertälje and Silver in Budapest.

Together with Marco Templin, Filiph is the most proven international player in the Cup Modus. So he might be a joker if he make it into the last 32.

I'm not going to take anyones side, but I guess Filiph was selected before him due to the fact that Filiph played better and beat Hans in the two OBS-competitions he played. It should be noted that Hans also played good in the third (or actually the first) competition and finished 4th in the qualifying rounds.
The fact that Filiph is a player for the future and Hasse has retired might also have been a factor.

Hmmm... ?
I wonder why a junior is picked before a player with alot of experience and who apparently is in pretty good shape (Hans Olofsson), comparing them at last Elitserien played in Jönköping 25-26th of july.
They where both nominated as substitutes with noone being first or second sub...
Why not decide that already when the original Squad is selected...

Alot of questionmarks... and no answers... yet...
