After 10 qualifying tournaments during the summer, the final of the West Swedish Tour was played on sunday at the courses of Göteborgs BGK, courses not seen as very easy. Roger Niord (Gullbergsbro BGK) is normally a good felt player, but extraordinary good on these courses, which obviously suits him very well, something he has also proved during the season.
Roger started with 33-31 to qualify for the semifinal, where he scored the best result (27) of the day. From his semifinal-group, Roger got company from teammate Martin Lundell. Also in the second semifinal-group there were 2 teammates qualifying for the final, Linus Sundström and World Champion, Sandra Weaver (both BGK Jönköping).
After a struggling start in the final for Martin and Sandra, the battle seemed to stand between Linus and Roger. However, Linus caught some misses in the second half of the final and Roger could ace the last lane for victory, scoring another blue round (29). As Martin finished his round playing -6 on the last 10, he scored 32 and reached a playoff with Linus for 2nd place, but then Linus proved him self to be the stronger one.
Rogers total average was fenomenal 30,0, which was 3,3 better then Linus, who had 2nd best overall average..... » Results
