This year the Middle Swedish Cup was re-born after being resting for some years. The motivation was to increase the competition participation throughout the clubs in the Middle Swedish Region with cities like Örebro, Eskilstuna and Västerås. The driving men's behind this was Hans E Olsson and Christian Eriksson from Fröslunda in Eskilstuna.
Now when its time to sum up the season after the finals this weekend it's seems like they have succeeded. On the eleven qualifying competitions the average has been 7 more participants per competition compared with last year.
The winner of the Super final in the Middle Swedish Cup 2009 was Lars-Göran Halvarsson, MGK Östra V. The finals were played at the indoor felt course in the MunktellArena.
