Portuguese Cup 2009 During the weekend of 18th and 19th of October the Portugese Cup was played on a brand new course. This competition is one of the most important tournments played in Portugal and is played with the matchplay system. On the first day, after 3 rounds of eternit, André Manuel (CM Porto) - men - ; Anabela Pereira (CM Costa Nova) - ladies -and Diogo Ferreira (CM Porto) - youths - were the leaders in the different categories.
On Sunday, playing with the matchplay system the only leader that survived until the end was André Manuel, winning the Portuguese Mens Cup after 5 rounds. With this title the CM Porto's player won all the Portuguese national official titles (Individual National Championship, Teams National Championship and Portuguese Cup). In the ladies competition, the winner was another player of CM Porto, Manuela Pinheiro.
João Oliveira, player of FC Vizela took the gold in the youth category after defeating 4 oponents.

After the competition, celebrating the end of the national calendar, all the prizes of the year were given to the different winners. Now, is time to start the regional competitions and the next year calendar...
