The German player of Olympia Kiel was once again the winner of Danish Matchplay played at the indoor course of Putter Team Odense. However it was a very tough match against the Swede Martin Lundell of Gullbergsbro BGK.
After 18 lanes, the score was 1-1, and it took another 9 lanes before Martin made the deceisive 2 that gave Daniel the victory.
Both players had done very well all through their matches leaving little doubt behind in their matches on their way to the final. Therefore the final became a close deal with a lot of good strokes and no insecurity.
Daniel also won in 2008 and he is the only player who has won twice during the 7 years of Danish Matchplay.
The preliminary round were won by young Mads Nørregaard who played 102 at the 5 rounds. That was 1 point ahead of Allan Schwab and 2 points ahead of Ole Rasmussen. However, all three lost their first match. In 2005 Mads was also winner of the preliminaries with the great score of 100 points for the 5 rounds.
In the B-class the final match stood between the players, Jonas Rasmussen of Gladsaxe Minigolf Klub and the 15-years old Nickolaj Andersen of Putter Team Odense.
The match became very exciting with leads to both sides, and after 18 lanes it ended 5-5 but Jonas had played 26 against 28 for Nickolaj. These two players also met in a sudden death for the victory of preliminary rounds which was won by Nickolaj.
