At a suddenly called for press conference in Frankfurt, Germany this morning Minigolf legend Walter Erlbruch reviled that his resigning from the sport immediately.
Minigolfnews where the only press attending live at this press conference. In a long and partly quite emotional monologue Walter explains that this decision has grown over some years now. The main reason is that he is tired of spending that much time and energy on the road and wants to spend more time on his life outside Minigolf. He also feels that he has won all there is to win and that it becomes a bit boring to actually win all the time.
Now its time to let the younger players through both in Hardenberg and in the National Team. Lastly he opens for a comeback in a few years from now, but surprisingly he states that will be on the MOS course then. This is the only surface I haven't won on yet and I am a bit curious about it. So maybe in the future I will go to UK or US to try my skills.
UPDATE: This was of course an April fools-day joke. We didn't have a pressconference with Walter and what we know, Walter isn't resigning (yet).
