Before the 3rd day of the German Bundesliga, this time played at the concrete courses of MSC Bansheim-Auerbach, Hardenberg had not lost a single point in the mens category, while Mainz had not taken a single point. Therefore it was a bit surprising to see Hardenberg at 3rd place this time, even if they only were 1 stroke away from a tied victory. Even more surprising was that the winner was Mainz (although it was a tied win with Arheiligen).
Hardenberg took the lead after 2 rounds (313) before Mainz (318), at this point, Arheiligen were way behind ( 335). However, they finished with 315 in the last 2 rounds while Mainz (332) and Hardenberg (338) had a tough time on the courses.
In the women category, Göttingen had the lead before Göttingen after 2nd day and this day was to become a tight fight between these two teams. Göttingen took the lead by 1 stroke after round 1, and increased their lead to 8 strokes before the final round. Mainz played on as before, but Göttingen played their highest score for today. Still, Göttingen could win by 2 strokes, doubling their total lead from 2 to 4 points before Mainz.
Best player of the day was Roman Kobish, Mainz, with an average of 25,50, while Nicole Piechotta, Göttingen, was the best female player (26,00). Lowest round was 22, played by Roman Kobish, Mainz, Kai Dorner and Alexander Junkerman, Dormagen-Brechten and Andreas Schneider, Arheiligen.
