Henk Goris and Annie Jasper Dutch Matchplay Champion

After the last 2 preliminary rounds the matchplay finals started quite early on Sunday.
In the mens catgory Huub Bottenberg (Drachten) lead after the first day and he finished with two rounds 24 and came in on the first place with 179 strokes. Lourens Zwarts (Appelscha) came in second with 186 strokes just before Henk Goris (Bennekom) with 187 strokes. In the womens category Annie Jasper (Leeuwarden) was leading with a big difference and stayed on the first place with 192 strokes before Mechelina Berentsen (Wageningen) with 219 strikes.
In the category men senior Mees Bouwman (Bennekom) leaded with big difference before Wilbert van Helmond (Doorwerth)126 - 135, but during the two rounds before the matchplay Mees Bouwman lost his first place to Wilbert van Helmond (54 - 43). In the category womewn seniors Elly Mulder (Wageningen) stayed in the lead with 201 strokes before Petra Tenge (Leeuwarden) 206 strokes.
In the juniors cayegory only two players and there was Aernout Folkertsma (Appelscha) much to strong for the young Youri Bottenberg (Drachten) 199 - 235.
The matchplay finals in the mens category became a struggle between Henk Goris and Huub Bottenberg in the semi finals which was won by Henk Goris (4-3). Eppie Paulusma won the other semi final against his clubmate Gerty Berentsen (Appelscha) with 7 - 2. The final was an exciting match which was decided on the last lane. Former European Senior Champion Henk Goris won with 4-3 agains Eppie Paulusma.
The finals in the women category was a match between Annie Jasper and Mechelina Berentsen and also this match was decided on the last lane 5-4. The final in the men seniors category finished on lane 17 and it was not Mees Bouwman but his clubmate Jan Engels who won this by surprise 4-2. The women senior final needed three extra lanes before Elly Mulder won over Petra Tenge 4-3.
The two juniors played a match the best of three and this match was already decided after two matches. Aernout Folkertsma was too strong two times 5-2.
