For the first time in 24 years the Swiss ladies Team take the Team Gold in a European or World Championship. Last time was back in 1986 on home ground in Wohlen.
Like the Germans on the men’s side it was never any threat to the Swiss Gold. The average of the Swiss ladies was even so good so they would have been number four amongst the men’s teams.
Even though some nerves could be seen on the last Beton lap on the Swiss ladies it was mostly smiling faces and brilliant performance. And in the end the big and Historical hug could conclude the victory. In the end it was 19 strokes down to silver position.
The German ladies could never really threaten the Swiss ladies but at least they kept the Austrian ladies behind. But at some stage in the beginning of the last round it was not more than 2-3 strokes down to the Austrian. But in the end the Austrians had to settle with bronze 6 strokes behind the Germans.
Individually the two Swiss ladies Melanie Blaser and Yvonne Klukas are still on top. Melanie will be top ranked tomorrow for the KO-rounds.
