Viktor Kozlov is Russian champion 2009

Viktor Kozlov rose from the shadows to a surprise victory at Russian Championships 2009, with a win margin of 8 points (1.14 points per round) at the eternite course of Moscow Sport University.

Kozlov played average score 25.57 in 7 competition rounds. Viktor Zhabin took silver with average 26.71, after a tied score and sudden death play-off against Kirill Teterev.

Olesya Trofimchik took gold in women’s competition, with average 27.00. Natalia Machehina was second with average 28.00, and Tatiana Chesnova third with average 28.14, one point behind Machehina.
