Sjöviken, from Hässleholm in the south of Sweden, will be a strong contender in this summer’s Elitserie. A couple of weeks ago, this team won the Swedish cup in Vänersborg. Today, January 17th, they took yet another victory when they won the tournament on felt in Vinslöv.
- Lars-Peter Nilsson, Daniel Källström and Leif Nilsson where our strongest players this weekend and it feels like we are getting better and better as a team. We are training really hard and have many players who competes to take a place in our Elitserie team, says Jan-Åke Persson, team coach.
Conny Lekander and Jim Oscarsson also played for the winning team this weekend.
The tournament in Vinslöv was played exactly in the same way as a round in the Elitserie. Eight teams with five players played seven games during two days.
Sjöviken won every game with margin except for the meeting with Perstorp (who plays in the second division in Sweden).
The lanes in Vinslöv are home court for both Sjöviken and Perstorp during the winter and both teams are really strong there.
The game was tight all the way but ended with a one stroke win for Sjöviken.
Perstorp ended second in the competition with the same points as Granhyddan (who plays in the first division in Sweden - under the Elitserie) and Olofström (a second division team).
Fredrik Persson, Swedish national player, was the strongest player individually with an average of 27,3. Lars-Peter Nilsson, 27,7 and Daniel Källström, 28,0 followed him.
