The 25th annual minigolf competition in the city center of Des Moines (Iowa, USA) attracted some 1,500 people to try their luck and skill on three temporary minigolf courses (3 x 18 holes), which were set up on the indoor walking streets of the city center.
Skywalk Golf, organized every year by Des Moines town authorities and several sponsors, is apparently the biggest minigolf tournament in the world. 54 local companies and organizations created the temporary minigolf courses, 3 x 18 holes, along the "skywalks" (indoor walking streets some floors above street level). The competition shrank a bit from last year, though, when they had four minigolf courses (4 x 18 holes) and 1,800 participants.
Winners of the competition received medals and VIP tickets to the victory ceremony of Principal Charity Classic golf tournament in May 2010. The players also had a chance to win a trip to golf US Masters 2010, in a putting contest.
Next year the Skywalk Golf will be organized on Saturday 5 February 2011. » results » photo gallery
