Interview with Anna Nitschke (AN), Germany and SG Arheilgen
This interview was done the 12th of March 2010. Interviewer is Hans Bergström (HB).
HB: First of all congratulations to a great season of 2009 which lead to the vote for “Junior Girl player of the Year” on Minigolfnews. Did you expect to win this vote?
AN: I knew I had good chances to win, but I didn’t really expect to.
HB: You won both the public vote and the expert jury vote. Which of them do you value the most?
AN: I think the importance of the two votes is about the same!
HB: Can you tell our reader a little bit about yourself?
AN: Well, at the moment I attend the 10th grade of the German “Gymnasium”. During my freetime I meet my friends, dance and like to go shopping. Also I take care of my fat cat which is called Caramba!
HB: You had a very successful 2009. Which was the best moment for you during 2009?
AN: The best moment for me was the moment when the girl’s team won the Youth European Championships!
HB: So how do you feel about the upcoming season? Will you continue playing as much as 2009 and what are your goals for the season?
AN: Most likely I will play the same tournaments as last year. Maybe I will join the woman’s team of my club sometimes, too. I just hope that the season will be again successful!
HB: How do you feel about the upcoming YWC in Sochi, Russia?
AN: Of course I hope to be nominated for the YWC. Surely it is interesting to travel to Russia and to be able to take place in the tournament.
HB: Do you like stroke play or match play the best for deciding the Champions in international Championships?
AN: I really think match play is exciting but in my opinion stroke play is best for finding out the Champions in international Championships.
HB: You are only 16 this year and are doing your first year as a junior 2010. Was it surprising for you to be able to compete with the best juniors last year despite you where still age wise a youth player?
AN: I know that I’m quite good at playing minigolf but I was very surprised and glad that the last year turned out to be so good!
HB: In April you are traveling to the Canaries Islands to do a Minigolf related TV-show. Can you tell us about this?
AN: I’m not allowed to talk about the TV-show, but I don’t yet know exactly what I have to show there.
HB: What are your future dreams within Minigolf?
AN: I hope that the German Girl’s Team will become the world champions this year at the YWC. But we’ll see.
HB: Again a big congratulation to the title “Junior Girl player of the Year” and good luck in the future.
AN: Thank you!
