Ninth Annual Red Putter Pro tournament this year gathered record 102 players. Many of them are local players, many come back for for yearly vacation in enjoy opportunity to participate in this event. Players have to pre- qualify forthe tournament by playing round of 41 or less points (par 42 course). Players were competing for top three best scores playing three rounds and for best score in one tournament round. Original prize money was 1500$ for first, 500$ for second place and 100$ for third place and best round each. As the result of tournament size increase by 40 players, first place prize was lifted to 1825$.
This year Matt McCaslin for the first time decided to try this event with his brother Daniel making last minute decision to join Matt in this tournament. During the first round Daniel was tied for 2nd and 3rd place with score of 33 but performance stability during the next two rounds put him in leadership role, leaving runner up Alan Fess in second place with five point difference. Mark Schroeder- last years Red jacket winner took honorable 3rd place trailing Daniel by 7 points. Daniel set new record for total score of three rounds- 101. Magical barrier of hundred points is still waiting to be broken during the future events.
Stephen Massei and Erik Emanuelson both had lowest tournament round of 32 and the sudden death replay decided who will take home this trophy and money prize. Replay usually starts on bear hole on which both players score two points. Moving log hole decided the winner in the replay with Stephen scoring one point.
While tournament busy crew was calculating final results, all players and guests were treated with delicious lunch followed with awards ceremony.
