Mathys and Sommer wins in Kloten

Switzerland 01 Feb 2011 at 18:29 | Published by: Hans | Views: 4673 | News search

Mathys and Sommer wins in Kloten Last weekend was the third and last international tournament of this winterseason in Kloten. After 30-hours-tournament and IHM this time the 14th Teamgolf-Tournament was played.

In the eight rounds every player of a team plays 9 lanes per round and totally eight times the second player can try to improve the result of the first player, so the results are about 3.5 to 4 points better that in normal rounds.

It´s a long and hard day starting at 9:00 in the morning and playing until 22:30. A lot of the suiss top-player and some good german playern along with some minigolf-dinosaueriers (for example europa-cup winners from 85, 89, 91 and 93) formed a good staring field.

The winners from 30-hours-tournament, Vitus Spescha and Cedric Mathys played with different partners in this tournament. Cedric played with the second of last years suiss championship, Reto Sommer, and won with a new tournament-record of 175 (21,875).

Vitus got forth place with Sandra Wicky, suiss champion 2010. The winners played so good that the difference to the runners up (Marko Nuotio and Norbert Nolte from Sibeliuspark Helsinki) was the same as the difference from the runners up to the 14th (8 points).
