The Swedish National Team committee has awarded Jan-Åke (Janne) Persson, Sjövikens IF, to be the 2010 Swedish Minigolfer of the Year.

On the Swedish Federation homepage the Swedish Head Coach Jan Strandberg has stated the motivation of the award (freely translated by Minigolfnews from Swedish):

"Janne showed at the old-timers European Championships in Cheb that he is at his best when it really counts. Despite really hash preparations he managed to take the bronze medal in a tough competitive field. He has also made a great effort in the Sjöviken Elitserie Team during the season as well on as off the tracks. Janne has in a brilliant way shown that when it’s possible to find joy and engagement in what you are doing, then age is no limitation to develop as Minigolf player."
