Aki Sillman and Oskari Vihervaara totally outclassed all others in the Teamgolf competition at Veritas Stadium indoor felt course in Turku, Finland, on 27 March 2011. Their average score was 24.25 after 4 competition rounds, massively 2.75 points per round better than the second best average 27.00 by Miko Tuominen & Petri Lönngren. Third place in the competition went to Jouni Valkjärvi & Juha Wellenius, in tied total score with Tuominen & Lönngren.
Teamgolf is a tournament for pairs, where the pair decides which of them will play each lane in the round of 18 lanes. If the pair is not satisfied with the lane score of the first player, they have a limited number of attempts to let the second player play the same lane again, in hopes of getting a better score for the lane.
Teamgolf competitions usually give some handicap to players of different skill categories. In this teamgolf competition, class 1 players had the right to use 8 second-player attempts during the 4-round competition (2 attempts per round, as average). Class 2 players had the right to use 11 recovery attempts in the competition, and class 3 players 15 attempts. The rights of the two players in a pair were combined, so a pair of two class 1 players had 8+8=16 recovery attempts during the competition, and a pair of a class 2 and a class 3 player had 11+15=26 recovery attempts, and so on.
The teamgolf event was played on Sunday, and a 4-round strokeplay event was played on Saturday. Top results of the strokeplay competition on Saturday:
