When the finals was played on Sunday in the Nations Cup General Class it was after two long days and in total twelve rounds played by the players in pressing heat from the sunny skies in Stockholm.
In the qualification the best results was shown by Germany and Austria who won their groups. Sweden was taking the second positions the qualifications rounds by their first and second team. So in one semifinal it was Germany against Sweden 1 and the second was Austria against Sweden 2.
The two semifinals were the highlights of the tournament with classic intense match play on a very high level. Both matches were really close but in the first semifinal Sweden managed to close the match by 3 strokes after taking advantage of some late German mistakes. In the second semifinal it was close all the way and Carl-Johan Ryner aced lane 18 on concrete for a team sudden death. Also in the sudden death Carl-Johan had to ace lane 1 to keep Sweden in the match and so hi did. And when Carl-Johan also aced lane two Günter Inmann could not respond so it was an all Swede final.
The match for third price was a close match between Austria and Germany where Austria manage to win on the end lanes. In the final Sweden 1 took an early lead on the eternity and they only extended that along the way to win by a huge 18 stroke margin.
Best individual player was Fredrik Person, Sweden and Nicole Warneke, Germany.
