Olten and Effretikon are Swiss team champions

Last weekend on the concrete course in Effretikon, was played the final 2 days of the SwissTeamChampionship.
After the first 2 days, the leader was MC Olten in both category (ladies and men).
The ranking was very close and in the ladies category, MC Olten had only 4 points of advantage on MC Effretikon. In the men category MC Olten had 5 points of advantage on MC Eichholz Gerlafingen and also the battle for the bronze medal, was very closed. In fact 3 clubs had the possibility to win this medal: MC Neuendorf, MC Burgdorf and MC Bern Falken.
After the first day (4 rounds), the MC Effretikon took the leading in the ladies competition with 4 points of advantage of MC Olten and in the third place was the MC Neuendorf.
In the men competition, MC Olten increased the advantage and after 4 rounds the difference between the 2 clubs was of 13 points.
Something important to say is that in the first round Vitus Spescha (MC Olten) played the new record with
23 points and Raphael Wietlisbach (MC Eichholz Gerlafingen) played 77 points in 3 rounds.
On Sunday was planned another 3 rounds and the MC Effretikon could reached the title with at the end only 3 points of advantage on MC Olten. In the third place was the MC Neuendorf.
In the men category, the suspence was bigger and till the end the medals are not defined. Before the last round MC Olten had 10 points of advantage of MC Eichholz Gerlafingen and MC Burgdorf had 4 points of advantage on MC Neuendorf.
During the last round, the weather was not perfect and the tournament has been stopped for about 20 minutes cause the rain.
The last round was very difficult to be played and the title was decided in the last few lanes. The MC Olten had the possibility to play 186 points to win the title and at the end they played 184.
For the 4th time consecutively the MC Effretikon and MC Olten will play the EuropaCup.
