Seventeen-year-old Minigolfer Seth Thomas from Wandsworth, London won the sixth-annual Kent Open as he defeated 21 players at the Minigolf Tournament held at the Lost Island Encounter Adventure Golf centre at World of Golf, Sidcup, on Sunday 14th November.
The tournament was played out on the 18-hole Explorers Course at World of Golf and for the first-time the event saw players using just a KMGC Golf Ball, rather than using a range of specialist minigolf balls.
Seth Thomas won the event with a score of 104 following rounds of 35, 35, 34. The tournament runner-up was Linton, Cambridgeshire’s Adam Kelly on 105, with James Rutherford from Cambridge third with a score of 106.
A total of 22 players entered the Kent Open and the event also saw Jes Moon win the top Novice award along with the 'Master of Wookie Hole' prize, defeating Sean Homer to clinch the prize after both players scored a hole-in-one on the 8th hole. Alex Pragnell won the Most Improved Player prize by ending with a round 10 shots lower than his first round. Marc Chapman won the Aces Champion prize.
Sean Homer of the BMGA and KMGC said “Well done to all who played and to the team at Lost Island Encounter course for their support and hospitality.”
