The last Bundesliga match took place on the concrete course in the Bavarian Kempten. It is a very good course in a beautiful area - a former quarry. In order to be able to repeat it on the Sunday, the last match is tradionally put on the Saturday. Due to the bad weather forecast for Sunday it was a good choice this year. Everybody could recollect the experience of the last match in Bad Münder, which was cancelled due to rain. This time the match could be finished with good weather.
There was no change in the table of the men's teams. Hardenberg had won the season anyway before the match and finished the season with another victory in Kempten. The winner team had a total of 645 (average 26.9). Dormagen-Brechten, Mainz and Arheilgen kept their places 2 to 4, but had the same number of points at the end. So the ranking was only decided by the total number of shots. Dormagen-Brechten was only 3 shots ahead of Mainz (throughout the whole season!), and Mainz only 6 shots ahead of Arheilgen. For these teams it was quite a close finish - on the last day and in total. The difference between the scores of the 4th place of the day and the winner was only 9 shots.
It was also clear before the match that Tempelhof goes down to the 2nd Bundesliga. They again ended up on the last place in Kempten. Bochum has to play the relegation match on the 28th and 29th of July to keep the league as they reached the 5th place in total.
The best players in the men's category were Matthias Reiche and Dennis Kapke from Arheilgen and Alexander Geist from Hardenberg with a total of 104 (average 26), and Alexander Geist played a 22 - the best round of the day.
Things were more exciting for the women's teams. With a 2nd place on the day Göttingen could secure the season victory. Olching defended their 2nd place in total with a 3rd place on the day only 6 shots ahead of Cuxhaven who could keep the 3rd place in total very close in front of Mainz. Mainz had a storming victory in Kempten with a total of 314 (average 26.2, even better than Hardenberg!). Alice Kobisch may have acted like a pace maker for her team as she achieved the best total of the day with an amazing 96 (average 24). So Mainz overtook Bensheim-Auerbach by just 2 points at the end and reached the 4th place in total.
