Sibelius Park MGK to represent Finland in EC

This weekend the Finnish Championships on Beton was played in Vaasa. It was both an individual competition and also the team competition in order to represent Finland in the European Cup in Vizela in October.
In the individual competition the best players was found in the men’s category where Aki Sillman won on 113, two strokes before Oskari Vihervaara who had the same results as bronze medalist Mathias Röj.
The ladies competition was won on 122 by Asta Korpi 3 strokes before Mirva Juhola. In the juniors boys class Juuso Tasku won on 118 strokes two strokes before Aapo Pessi.
But the main event was to be found in the team competition. Last year’s winner Manse was of course aiming for another victory but this year Sibelius Park wanted to give them a real match.
After a rainy Saturday the tournament was cut down to rounds and after 3 round the Manse team was leading by 5 strokes. But the Sibelius Park team made a strong team finishes and with the best team round of the day giving 177 on the last round they won the round by 9 strokes and the EC place by 4 strokes.
