
Mossy Creek Summer Swing Tournament Held

Jefferson City, Tennessee - The Summer Swing Tournament was held at Mossy Creek Mini Golf on Saturday, June 27. The format was two person teams playing two rounds of golf. The first round was combined stroke play. The second round their version of Aces. Each player gets two balls off the tee to attempt to make an ace. Each ace made by the team takes a stroke off of the team's first round scores. Half of the course holes have multiple cups so all of the hole locations were open for the potential for aces, adding a bit of strategy to the play. There were also divisions for Lowest Round and Aces Champion.
John Powell and Danny Baddeley combined for a score of 68 to pick up a seven stroke tournament victory. Matt Finley, 2019 Mossy Creek Putters Champion, tied the course record and claimed the Low Round Championship with an opening round 33.
Final Scores
Chad Hartsock and David Lanham both had six hole-in-ones in the Aces round. They each carded one ace during the opening round so a playoff was required to break the Aces tie. The seven hole playoff had each player Aceing Hole five. Chad Hartsock's winning shot and 9th ace on the day came on the difficult Hole 7. The Father Son team of Kenny and Carter Jarnigan had the most aces as a team in round 2 with a total 8 aces.

Overall, the tournament saw great scoring.The winning score last year was 88. Five teams beat that number this year. The tournament also saw 58 aces over the two rounds.
The next local tournament at Mossy Creek Mini Golf is July 25 at 10am. The Putters Championship is a two round individual stroke play tournament. The tournament will have the following divisions: Championship, Women's and Juniors (12 and under). The cost to play in the tournament is $12. This is the final tournament before the Tennessee Pro Mini Golf Open on August 29.
