Last weekend Portel’s minigolf course received the second of the four parts of the Portuguese National Individual Championship. This was the last official tournament on this course before the Youth Nations Cup and the Youth European Championship.
Blessed by the sun, the Portuguese players had to handle a temperature of around 30 degrees together with a challenging felt course, but some of them did very well.
André Silva (CM Porto), who was ranked 10th in the last European Championship, left all the competitors behind with an average of 34 strokes which let him with a 12 strokes difference for the second place .
As for the ladies , not much has changed with the top 3 players staying the same, and the same happened in female junior category, where Silvia Oliveira (Vizelgolfe) continues to lead the ranking.
Luís Silva Jr. (CM Porto), almost guaranteed the title in the Junior Male category after getting a 26 stroke difference for the second place. In the male youths, Fábio Lima (CM Porto) took the lead but has just a 2 strokes difference for Tiago Bastos (Vizelgolfe).
In the older categories, that played in the miniaturegolf, Sebastião Campos (CM Porto) was the big winner, jumping from the 7th place to the lead, after playing the only miniaturegolf green average of the tournament (24,2).
To sum up, with 8 rounds to go (4 in Lamego and 4 in Vizela) CM Porto is now leading 5 categories and Vizelgolfe, MC Lamego and CM Costa Nova 1 category each.
