Ivan Macho won the cup finals of Czech championships 2008,
at the eternite and beton courses of Cheb.
Silver went to Martin Ječný, who was the best player of the
8 preliminary rounds, with average
22.00 on eternite and
27.50 on beton.
Milan Ječný took bronze, by beating Marián Straško in the bronze match.
In women’s competition Kateřina Tietzová was clearly the best player of the
8 preliminary rounds (with a margin of 1.25 points per round), with average
22.75 on eternite and
29.25 on beton. In the cup finals of four best players,
she lost her first match 0–6 to Lenka Doleželová, but then won the bronze match against
Dita Škaloudová 6–1.
Gold medal was picked by Dagmar Hirschmannová, who defeated Lenka Doleželová
in the final match 5–0.
In mixed class of male and female juniors,
Michal Stančik won gold in the cup competition,
also being the best player of preliminary rounds.
Ondřej Mlčoch took silver, and female junior
Veronika Drbohlavová got bronze by beating Petr Bednář in the bronze match.
MOS specialist Olivia Prokopová took gold in mixed class of schoolboys and schoolgirls,
beating Marek Vlček in the final match 4–1. Jiří Stanĕk was sovereignly the
best player of 8 preliminary rounds, with a margin nearly 2 points per round.
He lost his semi-final match 3–7 to Marek Vlček, but then won the bronze match
against Matĕj Novák 7–2.
