Madara Kirša and Marek Tikerberi win Latvian championships

Reigning juniors’ European champion Madara Kirša took an easy victory
at Latvian championships 2008, at Saulkrasti eternite course.
Her average score
25.10 was more than 2 points per round better
than any other player in the competition, including all men and women.
Silver in women’s competition went to Madara’s older sister Kristiána Kirša,
with average
27.60. Ilze Kupce picked the bronze medal with average
28.40.
In men’s competition Marek Tikerberi won the sudden death play-off for gold
against Mártinš Vilmanis, after a tied score with average
27.20.
Girts Ieleja got bronze, after tied points and a play-off against Verners Kiršs, with
average 27.50.
