An immortal era ends (or at least takes a break) in German and international minigolf,
as BGS Hardenberg-Pötter loses Bundesliga victory to MGC Dormagen-Brechten —
after 9 consecutive years as German champions. Dormagen-Brechten now has
the right to represent Germany at European Cup 2008 as the only German team in men.
Bochumer MC took bronze in the league, by winning the 6th competition day
at the beton course of Uerdingen. Arheilgen landed fourth in the league, and Mainz
(the sensational league leader of early season) must enter
qualification matches for staying in 1. Bundesliga. Göttingen falls to 2. Bundesliga
without qualification matches.
Women’s league winner 2008 is MGC Mainz, the defending champion of last year.
MGC Göttingen takes silver, and BGC Neutraubling bronze. The other three teams
in the league were left far behind the medalists: Uerdingen in fourth place stays in the league,
Olching in fifth place must enter qualification matches, and Bensheim falls directly to 2. Bundesliga.
The best players of the 6th league weekend
were Alexander Geist and Christian Krumm, with average score
25.00 at the beton course of Uerdingen.
The best female player was Nicole Piechotta with average
26.75.
