Gustafsson plays 23-22-21 on felt
22 Jan 2009 at 10:56 | Published by: Hans | Views: 9544 | News search
Phenomenal play of Swedish National Team Member Jonas Gustafsson in their weekly evening competition is his hometown Jönköping.
The result was played on a 18 lane full size felt course with a PAR of 24,6. So even if the course is relatively easy as most indoor felt courses tends to be because of much training and always same circumstances, 66 on three rounds is a really astonishing result.
He of course broke his own course record on three rounds by 2 strokes.
Number two in the competition was the Erik Gustafsson with 26-23-28 = 77 strokes. » Full results

23 Jan 2009 at 13:20 | These Swedish felt courses are twice longer than PPA felt courses. But the level of difficulty varies greatly from course to course, no matter what length. |

23 Jan 2009 at 04:36 | In our organization, the PPA, the world record for 3 rounds is 63 held by Daryl Freeman, accomplished on Course #3 in Richmond, Virginia. His rounds were 19-22-22, the middle round had a bogey, and he layed up the last hole. The surface is a felt/carpet surface with metal rails. |

22 Jan 2009 at 21:55 | One time, 10 years ago, I played 23 on the french felt course in Niederbronn. In my group, the other player played 68 during the same round !!!
I also obtained good result on felt during the WC in Bad Munder but 66 on 3 rounds, it's total respect but not a surprise, I'm sure that a lot of national swedish player are able to play these kind of incredible round on felt, but 3 incredible rounds, it's amaizing. Congratulations....... |

22 Jan 2009 at 14:08 | The goal of this site is to cover interesting news about Minigolf. To score 66 on 3 rounds of felt is in my eyes probably a "inofficial world record" and it is worth mentioning.
By the way. Great play Jonas! I hope you will be in Odense and keep your form until then. |

22 Jan 2009 at 13:54 | Great play Jonas. Really impressive indeed BUT, isent it a bit "overkill" to inform the "minigolfworld" about a ordinary local clubcompetition?
I get the fact that it is the result you would like to point out.... But couldnt it just have stayed there?
And this is not meant to be negative... just stick to the bigger tournies? |
