WC 2011 organized by a newly created company

Sweden 15 Mar 2009 at 22:40 | Published by: Hans | Views: 4344 | News search

WC 2011 organized by a newly created company Today at the Swedish Minigolf Federation annual Federation Assembly it was announced that the World Championships in Stockholm 2011 will be arranged by a company. This company is newly created as a joint venture between the Swedish Minigolf Federation (SBGF) and Tantogårdens BGK. The main reasons for organizing this event using a company is to minimize financial risk for the Swedish Minigolf Federation and Tantogården but also to have a more agile organization.

The board in this company, yet unnamed, is suggested to be Hans Bergström and Said Morell representing the Swedish Federation and Jan Strandberg and Lars Lööf representing Tantogården. Acting as Managing Director will be Bengt Svensson, employed as General Secretary by the SBGF.

The World Championship in Stockholm 2011 will be played at Tantogårdens BGK and the courses will be a brand new concrete course, delivered by NIFO this spring and later an eternit course. The courses are located in a central park area in Stockholm and it is expected to be quite much people in this area at the WC. When Said Morell presented this today he made a point that the WC is not only a competition it will be an event. The company will in case of profit use its money to promote Minigolf in Sweden as much as possible and use the WC as a tool for this.
