In a very dramatic and exciting match for the Danish Championship the team of Aalborg Minigolf Klub defeated Putter Team Odense with only 1 point.
Before the final match between the two teams, the Aalborg-team was only 1 point behind as they had won their first 4 matches and Putter Team Odense had lost 1 match which was against Gelsted.
In the final match Aalborg came to a small lead in the beginning but Putter Team fought back and from this point, about the last 10-11 lanes, the two teams each took leads of 1-2 strokes but coming closer to lane 18 the score was even. Putter Team Odense could do with a draw, Aalborg needed a victory. As the last two players should play lane 18, the Lightning, the score was even.
Kåre Thomsen of Aalborg made an ace putting maximum pressure on Casper Frederiksen. The young Odense-player didn’t quite stand the pressure, he made a 2, and Aalborg could cry out their joy as Danish Champions after the most dramatic and intense fight probably ever seen in Danish minigolf.
The match was closely followed by enthusiastic spectators who cheered and supported their teams for every ace and every put.
The team of Aalborg was Allan Schwab, Johnny Andersen, Stephanie Dallinger and Kåre Thomsen. Congratulations for them.
The team of Putter Team Odense was Anders Grønnegaard, Erling Jensen, Mads Nørregaard and Casper Frederiksen.
The Team of Gelsted who took the bronze medal was John Hansen, Jannick Skov, Jakob Petersen and Lars Rosenquist. Unfortunately they showed a much too careless attitude thus scoring only 4 points.
The second team of Putter Team Odense scored 6 points and overtook the 4th place from Nord-Als Minigolf Klub.
New team in the league is the team of Odense Minigolf Club who needed only 2 points to ensure the promotion. They replace Randers Minigolf Klub who only managed one season in the best league.
Best player of the weekend was Stephanie Dallinger who played average 23,8 at the 5 rounds. Second came Jan Lyø with average 24,2 followed by Jakob Petersen, Allan Schwab, Kåre Thomsen and Casper Frederiksen at average 24,4.
