3 x more champions at German junior championships

Germany 18 Jul 2009 at 20:30 | Published by: JJM | Views: 8726 | News search

3 x more champions at German junior championships The results of German Junior Championships 2009 were reported in an unusual way: instead of the typical one scoreboard showing results of the two minigolf courses (eternite and beton in Kempten), the results of each minigolf course were shown on a separate page, without any live results service showing the score situation of both minigolf courses combined.

At the end of the tournament, the best players of each minigolf course were celebrated as champions of the playing system, while the title "German junior champion" was reserved to the best players of both minigolf courses combined.

Looks like a step into the direction of many other individual sports (from swimming to running, shooting etc.), where championships are arranged separately on a great variety of different competition formats, and the same player can win many medals or champion titles in the same competition weekend.

Anna Nitschke took full advantage of these arrangements in schoolgirls category, taking first place in all three possible championships (beton, eternite, combi). Anna played eternite with average 23.20, beton 29.60, and combi 26.40.

Anne Bollrich took two champion titles in female juniors (combi 26.00 and beton 28.00), the eternite champion title went to Jasmin Ehm with average 22.60.

Manuel Ganuba won two champion titles in juniors (combi 25.20 and eternite 22.00), the beton champion title was taken by Lukas Zimmermann with average 26.60.

Manuel Szablikowski became a double champion in schoolboys (combi 25.90 and beton 27.00), the eternite champion title went to Patrick Kothe with average 22.20.

We also have different kinds of championships in NL, but they are all played on different dates. At least if you have a good weekend you can win loads of German Championship titles in one weekend :P

In Germany it's a historic topic that we have championships in combi and we have also the result lists with the champions on concrete courses and eternit courses. The important championship is the one in combi.

Lars Brown, Uppsala, is a bit surprisingly in the lead of the Swedish Championships after 10 of 12 rounds. With a superb 3rd day with only blue results 27, 19, 24, 19 he is leading the men's class by 4 strokes in front of Pierre Zetterlund, Tantogården. These two ...

It's a tight competition in many classes where the really amazing game is so far not present. In the men’s class its Pierre Zetterlund of Tantogården who has the lead by one stroke landing on 148 after having the best overall average on felt (28.0) but a more ...
