The board of MGC Rotterdam in the Netherlands has decided that as of the 1st of January 2009 to club will stop to exist. The club, where a few junior players were quite successful in the late 90's has not got enough members and volunteers left to continue playing.
"All members of the board have full-time jobs" says secretary Astrid v/d Kraan. "It will be impossible to combine their jobs with the function they have in the club without the help of other members".
This is a big loss for the Dutch Federation, as MGC Rotterdam always had good players and some fantastic tournaments in the past. Rotterdam was one of the clubs to start a 24 Hour marathon in the Netherlands around a decade ago.
It is not known yet what will happen with both eternit courses the club owns. » Original article at the FNMB website
