Last weekend the new concrete course in Naturns (venue of the Youth European Championships 2011) hosted the 2010 edition of Italian Cup - Lands Cup.
The tournament showed some very good results, even if it was almost impossible to have good training because on the previous two days it rained most of time. It is very possible that next year at YEC we will see many "blue" rounds (both on concrete and miniaturegolf, which is a quite easy course too).
The only problem on Naturns courses could be the wind, but during this tournament there had been almost no wind at all and the results show that.
The Italian Cup had been won, for the 2nd consecutive year, by ASDMC Follonica which played a very good average of 27,0 . The team formed by Lorenzo Bellucci, Andrea Montomoli, Lorenzo Ciompi, Nicola Bellucci and Francesco Donadio scored a total of 324 strokes, giving no chance both to M.C. Predazzo (Ottavio Boninsegna, Francesco Morandi, Enrico Dallabona and Luca Dellasega) which ended in silver medal place with 335 strokes (27,9 avg) and M.G.C. Novi Ligure (Matteo Pirovano, Piero Porta, Gioachino Ricchiuto, Paolo Porta and Mauro Bernardi) which got the bronze medal place with 341 strokes (28,4 avg). Just off the podium we have GSP Vergiate and the home team of SSV Naturns which could finish no better than 5th.
At the same time, the Lands' Cup have been played. It was a tournament for 10 players-teams selected from each region, and here we have the revenge of home players, because the Südtirol team won the cup with 342 pts. better than Lombardia (326 pts) and Liguria (313 pts).
About individual results, the best overall player of the tournament was the junior Lorenzo Bellucci (ASDMC Follonica) with a total of 76 strokes (25.25) , which is a very good news for Italian team because Lorenzo will play next year in the YEC.
