Finnish Minigolf Federation has chosen Pasi Aho as the new head coach of the national team. In earlier years Pasi has served as the head coach of Finnish junior team, until he signed off after the 2007 season.
Previous head coach of team Finland, Harry Grönlund, stepped down from the position after the 2008 season, having coached the national team for more than a decade. Finnish Minigolf Federation did not receive any applications for the head coach position during the winter, so Pasi Aho agreed to take the duty for the 2009 season, including Nordic Championships 2009 and World Championships 2009.
Pasi has no plans to continue as the head coach after the 2009 season. Finnish minigolfers are seeking a person that has the time, motivation, skills and long-time commitment to take the head coach position after the 2009 season.
The obvious question, “will Pasi act as a playing coach?”, has already been asked, and certainly will be asked many more times. The quick answer is “no”, but the final answer will be heard when we see how many players, and of what skill level, become available for the national team in the summer season. » player profile of Pasi Aho
