The home player Ulf Kristiansson was the best player over the 6 rounds of beton in Skoghall this weekend. The Swedish National Team player from last year won the men's class on 166 strokes (27,7), 3 strokes before Lars Brown of Uppsala.
The second best player of the weekend was found in the men's old-timers class, where Roger Niord of Gullbergsbro won for the second year in a row. Rogers 167 was one stroke better than Peter Nordin of Sundsvall. Since the competition in Skoghall was an observation competition for Old-timers and juniors the starting field in those classes where relatively stronger than in the general classes.
In the juniors class everyone expected a home win from one of the Skoghall juniors with national team class. But Filiph Svensson, Sebastian Mårtensson, Dino Medenhodzic and the other talented home players were all beaten by a David Gustavsson (28,2) from Askim winning for the second weekend in a row. David is now a really hot alternative for the junior coach Erik Gustavsson for his team to Waldshut.
In the ladies old-timers class it was yet another victory for Bernice Thors (30,5) of Gullbergsbro. In the ladies class the victory was easily taken by Maria Olsson (28,8) of Jönköping.
The lowest score of the weekend was made by Erik Borgström. The home player made a 23 that is one stroke above the official course record held by Anders Olsson. The unofficial course record is as many know the unbelievable 18 made by Stefan Björk in a club competition back in 2005.
