Beginning of new season 2009/10 of Slovak minigolf league was located and played in picturesque northern part of Slovakia, ski region Ruzbachy, on relatively less difficult felt course this weekend. 49 participating minigolfers had the opportunity to try new model of competition valid since September of this year, where two independent competition days are played during the weekend (team and individual in parallel). This brings an interesting piece of tactics for team leaders to the game as they are allowed to adjust team nominations and players order for second day of weekend and obviously new motivation for those, who failed to succeed during first day.
The best on both days appeared to be team of GK Bratislava (33.67 and 31.73). On Saturday, 1.MTGC Prievidza (33.80) was able to keep the pace and finished just 2 strokes behind followed by third GK Bankov Kosice (34.07), but second day must have taken smile from their faces. As felt specialists they were unable to break into TOP3 and finished surprisingly 4th. GK Bankov Kosice therefore moved to 2nd spot (32.27) and guys from MTGK Brezno to 3rd (34.00).
Among individuals, first day belonged to Radovan Struhar, youth from 1.MTGC Prievidza, showing no respect to older opponents and claiming victory with gap of 4 strokes (29.00). Ivan Bus, GK Bratislava, dominated on second day with notable blue run - 28, 25, 29 and easy victory 5 strokes (27.33) ahead of second best placed.
Round 3 and 4 are played next weekend on new eternit course in Prievidza. » results » photo gallery
