25-minute tribute sends Tim Davies to retirement
Marion and Sean Homer saying farewell to Tim Davies.  (Photo by Sean Homer 2010)

The grand man of British minigolf, Tim Davies, received 25 minutes of video messages and memories as a tribute, as he quit his playing career (or so he says), moving to France where he expects to live a quiet life without much minigolf involved.

Tim may be surprised to find out that there is minigolf also outside of Britain...

I have it that he said it was Mont Saint-Michel or something alike where the family will move. It was somewhere in Bretagne or Normandie anyway.

A fitting farewell to a Legend! UK minigolf owes Tim a great deal, hopefully we'll see him again.

Thanks to everyone who contributed - it was greatly appreciated and certainly made for a great send off for Tim after the Club Championships on Sunday.

Rest assured that all of the original emails and comments have been passed on (unedited) to Tim in their full glory!

My original farewell words said:

... your elegant fisherman's hat, and your elegant friend McIver (could you take also him with you as you go away?) ...

This text was shortened, and the words in brackets dropped from the video, because of limited space on the video screen.
