July 30, 2011, New Bedford, MA In a first for Southern New England, Oceans 18 hosted an indoor blacklight miniature golf tournament.
Three rounds were played and golfers competed in both a singles and doubles competition. The singles competition was standard stroke play
while the doubles was a single elimination tournament with winners decided by the best combined score of the team.
In the singles division, Pat Sheridan jumped out to an early one shot lead and never looked back, leading all three rounds.
Pat finished with a 117, besting Elmer Lawson and Nate Wren who both shot 121 and tied for 2nd.
In the doubles division the team of Nate and Dan Wren beat Elmer and Terry Lawson in their first round match earning them a bye in the second round.
This pitted them against Andrew Pittsley and Chris Machado in the final round and Nate and Dan took the top prizes after weathering some close holes
at the end.
While the weather may have been nice outside, all the competitors had a great time in the dark and look forward to future tournaments at Oceans 18.
