The British Minigolf Association’s 2011 season has come to an end and the final ranking lists have been published.
After 22 ranking events (including Club Invitational competitions, the BMGA British Doubles and the BMGA British Club Championships) a total of twelve players lifted BMGA Tour titles, with a further four players lifting BMGA Titles in non-ranking events.
Five players won more than one tournament this year, with Michael Smith earning ten victories, James Rutherford with three wins, and Marc Chapman, Chris Harding and Sean Homer all bagging a brace of victories on tour in 2011.
In the 2010-2011 BMGA Order of Merit Rankings Oxford’s Michael Smith was ranked as the BMGA British Number One player with 5,710 points to finish number one in the 116 player strong rankings, based on performance in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Canterbury’s Marc Chapman finished the season in second place with 5,320 ranking points, and in third place, was Greenhithe’s Sean Homer with 5,180 ranking points.
In the 2011 BMGA Season Only Ranking Points Michael Smith was ranked number one of the 138 players who have played in a BMGA competition during the 2011 season. Michael finished the season with a total of 8,450 ranking points. Second was Cambridge’s James Rutherford on 8,110 points, with Sean Homer in third place with 6,860 points.
