After 2 bad week-ends under rain in april, the nice weather was came back for the national tournament of Spay (near Le mans, Sarthe) last weekend.
The royal felt course of Spay, built 2 years ago by Wolfgang Maier to receive the French championships 2008 is probably the most difficult minigolf course in France. The record of the course is still 31 shots after 2 years of competitions and also the French National Championships.
If the course is quite new, a very active club (MGC Houssay) plays on this course and each year, there are new players who plays the national tournament and some of them will be probably good felt players in 2 or 3 years.
This year, the victory was for Philippe Lhéritier with 31-36-38-38 (average of 35.75). The second place was for Grégoire Mangier (CGM Dijon) with 39-40-41-37 (average 39.25) and the third place for Jean-Yves Pirolles (MGC Houssay) with 40-43-41-44 (average of 42.00). The Progolf Cup for the highest number of aces on lane 2 was achieve by Grégoire Mangier.
The next national tournament will be played on the MOS course of Arles sur Tech (near Perpignan) the 10 of may.
