Olsson continues his strong season

Anders Olsson, Uppsala, took his victory number 4 and 5 this outdoor season, when winning the Swedish Observations competition on eternit, on his home ground in Uppsala. This was the first of 3 competitions that the Swedish head couch before the season had selected as extra important for the selection of the team to Odense. Because of this the fairly small competition included many star players like C-J Ryner, Fredrik Persson and Lars Brown on the men's side and Karin Wiklund, Sandra Bengtsson and Jessica Rengbrandt on the ladies side.
The competition where played with 4 qualifying rounds on Saturday and a cup for 32 players on Sunday. Anders Olsson showed in the second round on Saturday where the victory would go by a perfect 18 on the relatively tough course in Uppsala. He could win this qualification round on 83 strokes two less than his former teammate Fredrik Persson now playing for Granhyddan. C-j Ryner, Uppsala, was third in 89 and Hans Olofsson, Kungälv, and Karin Wiklund, Uppsala, landed on 90.
The cup on Sunday was played in lane-match style like in international championships and als here where the two best players Anders Olsson and Fredrik Persson who met in the final. Anders Olsson won this final beating not only Fredrik but also his own track record in matchplay. Karin Wiklund won the match on 3-4 place over promising youth player of Peter Fransson of Olofström. Peter was beating Hans Olofsson and Marcus Larsson on his way to the semifinals.
