On Sunday, it was the traditional national tournament of Dijon played on the eternit course of Lac Kir known by a lot of old european minigolf players who played the 24 hours of Dijon some years ago on this course.
Since 2002, this tournament is also a commemorative tournament for the best friend of the French minigolf, Kiki Lebon died in may 2002 and each year, his mother Daniele come on this tournament in memory of Kiki and offer the cups for the winners.
This year, the tournament is also a preparation for the french championships which will take place in Dijon the 4th and 5th of july.
After a difficult start under the rain, and some wind, the tournament finished under the sun for the finalists. Indeed, after 4 rounds of qualification, only the best 50% continued the tournament for 2 extra-rounds.
After the qualification, the top position was for Nicolas FOURNIER (MGC Rhodanien) and Valérie QUENEAU (CGM Dijon) and all the places in final was took by members of these 2 clubs.
At the end of the tournament, the final victory was for Philippe LHERITIER (MGC Rhodanien) after a sudden-death against Valérie QUENEAU (CGM Dijon) with a bad average of 25.500 due to the bad weather conditions and the difficulty of the course. The third place was finally took by Greg MANGIER (CGM Dijon) and the 4th place by the winner of last week in La Pacaudière, Rémy Vallin.
In one month, the French Championships will take place on this course and if the victory seems to be acquire for Valérie QUENEAU in womens, the championships will be really more interesting in mens with several players able to win the title.
