This weekend, a tournament called "WWW" was played in Vänersborg (5 eternite rounds, day 1) and Gothenburg (4 felt rounds, day 2). The name "WWW" is actually short for "Wild West Weekend", referring to the fact that both cities are located in the western part of Sweden.
Bernice Thors (Gullbergsbro BGK), medalist in the last 2 Seniors European Championships, was favorite to win, due to the fact that Vänersborg is her homecourse and also keeping in mind that she is one of Swedens best senior players on felt.
During day 1 though, youth player Robin Heidengård (Hårdton IK, Vänersborg) outscored everyone by playing 20,8, taking the lead by 4 strokes before Bernice.
Robin started well also day 2, loosing "only" 2 strokes (61 vs 59) to Bernice during round 1-2. However, Robin couldn't keep up his play and finished with 2 bad rounds. Bernice continued to equal the course record on 2 rounds (26-23), scoring a felt average of 27,0 and winning by 22 (!!!) strokes before teammate Lennart Gustavsson (Gullbergsbro BGK). » Results
