Yesterday it was announced that Martin Lundell was awarded the "minigolfer of the Year" award byt the Swedish Federation.
This award is based on exceptional playing results during 2012 and was nominated by the three head coaches that was active during the 2012 Championships (Jan Strandberg general class, Erik Gustafsson juniors and Stig Pettersson seniors).
The motivation was:
"Martin was playing a game in absulte world class att SEC in Rozemaai. He was leading the mens team to gold and was also taking gold in the stroke play. And also in the final match play he was very succesful by taking a silver medal. An amazing and very hard to beat achivment making Martin a worthy winner"
The Minigolfnews staff would like to agree in the motivations and congratulate our former staff member and friend to this amazing year and to a worthy award.
We in the staff can also notioce that what Martin did last year (Gold-Gold-Silver) is the closest so far to take all three golds. One might wonder who will achive this tripple the first.
