A lack of indoor minigolf courses in the Netherlands forces the players to go abroad or play outdoors during the winter. This sunday the aces tournament in Appelscha was held. The tournament started with snow and continued with cold conditions.
Only aces were counted which means people didn't have to wait for high scores and the 4 rounds could be played pretty quick.
Gerty Berentsen of MGC Appelscha won at his 'homecourse' with a total amount of 33 aces. He had a solid lead of 5 aces to the second place, Mees Bouwman (EMG de Putters) with 28. Also the third place stayed in Appelscha and was won by Jacco v/d Stelt with 27.
At the women it was Annie Jasper of MGC Leeuwarden who took the gold with 27 aces, followed by Marga Huisman (MGC Appelscha - 23) and Christien Fennema (MGC Appelscha - 22).
A surprising total of 35 players came to Appelscha and finished the 4 rounds.
