This weekend was the season start in Sweden with 3 felt competitions in different parts of the country. The weekend invited with wonderful spring weather in most of the country with about 20 degrees and sunny.
In the opening competition in west Sweden the Elite class was dominated by the international Swedish player Jonas Gustavsson, BGK Jönköping. He played the 3 rounds at the Borås felt course in impressive style. 27, 27, 26 = 80 gave him the victory by 10 strokes before Roger Niord of Gullbergsbro BGK. With the shape Jonas has showed during this winter he seems to be a given team member for Sweden in Odense.
In the Stockholm area the first competition of the season was played in Enköping. This is a quite tough felt course and the results were much higher than in Borås. On the two rounds that were played the Elite class was won by Anders Görlin of Fröslunda BGK at 32, 37 = 69. He was together with three others the only ones with a green average, one was the second man in the Elite class, home player Jan Andersson with 71, one was the winner in class 3 Daniel Johansson 69 and the last was the winner in the veteran class Benny Allansson with the best score of 64 strokes.
In the south the biggest competition this weekend was played in Perstorp, gathering 82 players. The weathertradition for minigolf in Perstorp is usually rain, rain and even more rain. But todays weather was the ultimate for top minigolf with stunning sunshine and heat.
Lars Peter Nilsson, Sjöviken IF belongs to the south swedish top on the feltcourses and not all surprising was his play for the day. With 29, 30, 28 = 87, on the medium easy course in Perstorp, he won just in front of Per Olof Isacsson from home club Perstorp with one stroke in the Elitegroup.
The B-group was'nt that surprising won by the old newcommer in Swedish minigolf, Björn Andersson, BGK Linjen.
