Too old for minigolf? Never.
Göttingen indoor eternite competition 2008 had an impressive crowd of 201 participants,
including some of the very best cream of German minigolf. Rahmlow, Oberweg, Albrecht...
But all the professionally coached Bundesliga players had no chance against
Herbert Wieck, 76 years of age.
Mister Wieck, known to friends as “Dreifinger-Joe”, scored the four competition rounds

(average 18.75), leaving
other competitors far behind. And also leaving some world records into history,
in the age group of veterans.
The second best player of the competition was German national team candidate Sascha Albrecht,
with an average score 19.75.
Having missed 7 holes in the competition, Albrecht made 133% more mistakes than Wieck, who
missed only 3 holes.
The third best player in the competition was Konrad Jahr,
with an average score 20.00.
Having missed 8 holes in the competition, he made nearly three times more mistakes than the evergreen
winner of the competition.
