There is a new poll started, to crown the best man Minigolfer from 2010.
This year we have selected 20 male players based on their merits from last year.
After that we will do the same for juniors girls and boys.
In parallel we have also asked an "expert jury" to give their votes. The results will be published once we have closed the public votes.
To vote, you have to log in and to see the current standings, you have to vote.
The voting is done by giving points to 10 photos, from 10 to 1 point. Once you have given the 1-pointer to the last photo of your choice, the votes are automatically submitted.

07 Mar 2011 at 14:49 | Yes, the Euro minigolfers are EXCELLENT! I'm sure all nominated are deserving. Simply look at the scores they routinely shoot. 18, 19, 20 and 21 are fantastic scores-even on "easy" eternit courses. Now let's talk about the USA. First off, the PPA has the best competition in North America. True, Ricard Lockner beat the PPA pros in the USPMGA 'major', but Putt-Putt has the best players and most difficult tournaments in the USA. Sweeden's Olofsson finished 3rd in the 2004 PPA National Championship and Olivia Prokopova is the current PPA National Championship runner-up-but I say the best North Americans are as skilled as the best Europeans. We in the USA will NEVER be able to contend on courses where multiple balls and lane preparations are allowed, but we will be competitve with the best Euros on Putt-Putt and other MOS surfaces. |

07 Mar 2011 at 13:54 | I don't think it's easy to win in GB or USA!!! So, I just think that best european's players are "superior" that best american or british's players. So, it's not a mix but after twenty years in minigolf and some european's championship, I saw some players and in my point of view, MOS or not MOS isn't the question because a top-player can win on different courses. My first topic just speaks about that : top european players won on MOS in USA or in britain...not the similar process in EC/WC for the other hand. |

07 Mar 2011 at 12:58 | Consider to british or american's performance in major's WMF/EMF performance, I don't understand the reaction from Great Britain or USA...
I remembered some european's players in US major's who won...but I don't remember US or britain players winning the EC or WC. |

06 Mar 2011 at 22:43 | Dear John,
It's a shame to see that stereotyping is still alive and well..... So had one of the Brits mentioned in my comment been recognised in the poll do you think I'd be that naive to place them in the higher echelons of my rankings........er no sorry.
&
No your right, I have not had the pleasure yet of playing in a Major(!) Mainland Europe tournament but who knows that may change in the future and I'd love to meet or just observe the players mentioned. On that matter, my comments made no reference as to whether I questioned the nominated players abilities in fact I congratulated their achievements.
Next year maybe I can make an Informed vote?
By the way John, will we have the pleasure of your presence at one of our tournaments on the naive island as you do a great job on the course with your squiggy :-)

06 Mar 2011 at 09:56 | From a British perspective, having never travelled to major competitions outside of Britain, it can be difficult to understand who these nominated players are, and how good they actually are.
Minigolfnews.com staff have personally been nearly everywhere in minigolf world, and seen pratically everything in minigolf world, so you should wait to see these players in real life, before you make the assumption that they cannot be so good as they are said to be, by us who have seen both you and them in real life. |

06 Mar 2011 at 01:46 | Considering the BMGA had 17 formal tournaments during last season and if you look at the winning averages in each tournaments they are below par, we're no muggs. I agree with Squire either Chris Harding (especially for his 2nd World crazy title and winning 6 out of the 17 titles during the season) or Michael Smith (Most consistant finisher and No 1 in the season only rankings with 10 hatrick Aces, 200 Aces, 30 sub 36 rounds, 4 course records and 1 title) the facts don't lie, One of these guys should have been recognised.
Maybe next year?
I would hope the players mentioned above are thinking of attending the WMF Adventure Golf Masters in May as I'd really like to see some of them play over here and see how we measure up. Untill I see them in real life it doesn't seem right that I should vote. Congratulations though for all your successes last year. |

04 Mar 2011 at 13:04 | The list includes max. 20 players, usually the top 10 or top 15 from WMF / EMF championships (some kind of compromise between strokeplay and matchpaly results), plus the best from European Cup (now Ryner), the best from Senior Championships (now Schuster and Leuci), at least one adventure golf player (now Greg Newport and Ricard Lockner), and maybe yet some other hand-picked significant player (now Olsson).
So if you want to get on the list next year, make sure that you are in top 10 of WMF / EMF championships, or the best player at European Cup, EMF Senior Championships, adventure golf US Masters, or PPA Championships. |
