The first of October is the date for changing age-class in Sweden. Therefore the ranking generated on the 10th of October is usually interesting since the players that have changed class shows up in their new age classes. This year there are quite a few interesting changes happening due to this.
Maybe the most astonishing change is the 13 years old Robin Heidengård, from Hårdton BGK, that is now the new top ranked on felt for male juniors. The main reason for this is of course that many of the top-ranked juniors like Filiph Svensson, Rasmus Schedin and Dino Medenhodzic is now too old for being juniors and turning into general class.
Anyway this is the first time a boy this young tops the juniors felt ranking. Second in the juniors felt ranking is also very young and has just turned into Junior, its Peter Fransson of Olofström. So it seems like the Swedish men juniors are heading for an interesting generation swift with new young players turning up.
The overall best is now Filiph Johansson of Sjöviken before Mattias Brännström of Skönsberg.
On the junior girls side it's not the same big changes since all of the girls in the Swedish juniors team this year are still juniors next year.
On the old-timers side there is one interesting change this year and it's that our editor Martin Lundell is now turning into an old-timer Gentlemen. Martin makes an interesting entrance and is ranked in 4th place overall with a top position on concrete. It seems like Martin will be one player that can compete for a place in the Swedish squad that is going to play the Seniors Championship in Cheb in the Czech Republic next year.
Also here it's not as dramatic on the ladies side where the Oldtimers ladies in the top positions are more or less the same as before.
In the men's general class Carl-Johan Ryner, Uppsala takes over the overall number one in Sweden from his club mate Anders Olsson, due to a slightly better season finishing than Anders. The WC silver medallist Filiph Svensson is the new overall number 8 in the men's class. The top ten is dominated by the current and past Swedish national Team players.
On the ladies side Sandra Weaver is untouched in the top for the 5 consecutive months with Karin Wiklund in second position. Since the best junior girls in Sweden is still juniors not much has happened with filling up the general ladies class from below.
