This year´s championship was in the light of great changes. For the first time Czech players could reach victory twice, they had chances in strokeplay and then in matchplay, where 32 absolute best men and 16 absolute best women competed.
Czech strokeplay championship, played on eternit and conrete course in Rakovník, was dominated by two „foreign“ players, both from Bochumer MC. Ivan Macho won with the average 25,33, followed by Karel Molnár, only one stroke behind. David Bílek (MGC Olomouc) took bronze, again one stroke behind.
The Czech champions of other categories are:
women - Kateřina Tietzová (with average 28,17)
juniors – Vít Škaloud (25,83)
female juniors – Jana Nakládalová 27,83)
schoolboys – Jiří Solař (26,00)
schoolgirls – Karolína Jandová (31,50)
seniors – Zdeněk Andr (26,83)
female seniors – Dagmar Hirschmannová (29,83)
The men matchplay competition must have been a disillusionment for some of the top players from the preliminary part of the championship. The new Czech champion is David Bílek. He beat Vít Škaloud (who was fourth in the absolute strokeplay competition). The biggest surprise came with Ondřej Mlčoch, he started from the 31th place and broke through to the bronze position.
Even the top women players didn´t succeed as they surely wished. Jana Nakládalová as the best female player from the strokeplay lost her semi-final match and took third place eventually. Second best woman player Kateřina Tietzová lost her final match for gold with Dita Škaloudová, who is the new Czech woman champion.
In Rakovník was also played the final of the Czech Extraleague. The winner is SK Tempo Praha (with the right to go to the European cup), silver team is 1.DGC Bystřice pod Hostýnem “A” and bronze is MGC Olomouc.
Women teams don´t have any running competition during the season, they have the only chance to prove their quality to get to the European cup at these championships once a year. The best women team for this year is 1.DGC Bystřice pod Hostýnem, which was 14 strokes ahead of MGC Holešov. Third place was taken by SKGC Františkovy Lázně.
